A Study on the Thermal Properties of Oil-Film Viscosity in Squeeze Film Dampers

Considering the variation in temperature of oil film squeeze dampers (SFDs) caused by squeezing, a more comprehensive analysis SFD can be obtained. Aiming to investigate viscosity thermal effect SFDs, this study established 3D CFD solution model. Based on total energy model, was performed. With mixture multi–phase flow Zwart–Gerber–Belamri (Z–G–B) cavitation and use additional mass coefficient, two–phase phenomenon SFDs discussed. The at various temperatures distribution different types under working conditions were analyzed. Furthermore, influence particularly carried out. Meanwhile, simulation results experimentally verified. revealed that maximum enhanced with increase eccentricity ratio precession frequency. closely related dynamic viscosity. reduced, which effect, thus leading decreased oil–film damping, enlarging vaporization level range vapor cavitation, as well ingested air amount. good agreement experimental data, verified accuracy proposed
